Mastering Windows 7 Deployment – a book worth reading :)

I’ve just finished reading a great new book called Mastering Windows 7 Deployment from Sybex
by Aidan Finn [MVP] (and Darril Gibson and Kenneth van Surksum [MVP]).
The book is 482 pages and well worth reading from start to finish if you
are in any way serious about Deploying Windows 7 using the tools available like Windows Deployment Services, System Center
Configuration Manager 2007, MDT 2010 update 1.

What I
liked about the book is that it covers the breadth of issues you’ll
likely need to deal with from evaluating applications for Windows 7
compatibility, cloning your Windows 7 image, migrating users data,
Windows Deployment Services, Volume licensing and of course MDT and SCCM
Zero Touch. You get detailed infomation to help you perform the tasks
to get the job done and there are ‘bottom line’ summaries of what you
need to be aware of and quizzes to keep your mind sharp and up to speed
with the scenarios and techniques required for Deploying Windows 7 in
your organisation.

My only gripe is that there wasn’t enough information about deploying OS’s with Bitlocker via SCCM,  c’est la vie, you can’t have it all 🙂

cheers
