The Jump.My 40'th birthday present was a 'tandem jump'. That was what I got, and I was very excited when I got it (November 24th/2006). I had to wait until this summer (summer 2007) before I could try it out, and boy was it worth the wait!!I finally managed to get vacation time, and flew to stockholm the night before. The following morning, I rented a car and travelled to Nykoping with my mum, we arrived in plenty of time, and the jump was delayed by one hour due to weather conditions. The weather itself was fine and sunny with some clouds. We watched as other people did the jump before it was my turn, but nothing could have prepared me for the feelings I experienced when it was my turn. (Here's a hint: terrifying !). Below, please choose how to look at the jump I took on that sunny August day. You have four choices, a small WMV video clip (11mb) of the jump itself, a long AVI of before/during/after (everything, 1.2GB) or photos in extremely high quality of the event or the professional DVD version including music and some editing (399.6MB zip). Interestingly enough, if you look at the fulljump (avi) you'll see at the start, that there's a WARNING on my back (great place to put it huh ? I only saw it after watching the video...). And the text in that warning reads:- PARACHUTE SYSTEMS SOMETIMES FAIL TO OPERATE CORRECTLY EVEN WHEN PROPERLY MANUFACTURED, ASSEMBLED, PACKED AND OPERATED. YOU RISK SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH EACH TIME YOU USE THIS SYSTEM. READ, UNDERSTAND AND COMPLY WITH ALL MANUFACTURER'S MANUALS, RECOMMENDATIONS, PROCEDURES, PLACARDS AND LIMITATIONS BEFORE USE. If you don't bother making a choice, then you'll be redirected to the photos. small version (11mb) DVD version (with music) (399MB) full version (1.2GB) photos |
